Fantasia Barrino, known simply as Fantasia, is an American singer, actress, and author. She rose to fame as the winner of the third season of the reality television series American Idol in 2004. Following her victory, Fantasia released her debut single "I Believe," which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her debut album, "Free Yourself," was released later that year and was certified Platinum.
Fantasia has since released several successful albums, including "Fantasia," "Back to Me," and "Side Effects of You." She has won numerous awards for her music, including a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in 2011. In addition to her music career, Fantasia has also ventured into acting, appearing in Broadway productions such as "The Color Purple" and "After Midnight." She has also written an autobiography, "Life is Not a Fairy Tale," which was adapted into a Lifetime television film.
