Faron Young was an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born on February 25, 1932, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and he became one of the founding members of the Grand Ole Opry. Young's music career took off in the early 1950s, and he had numerous hits throughout the decade, including "Goin' Steady" and "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young," which became his first number one hit in 1955.
Young's smooth voice and energetic stage presence made him popular with audiences, earning him the nickname "The Hillbilly Heartthrob." He continued to have success in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Hello Walls" and "It's Four in the Morning." Young was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. Tragically, he passed away on December 10, 1996, at the age of 64.
