Fats Domino, born Antoine Domino Jr. on February 26, 1928, in New Orleans, Louisiana, was a pioneering American singer and pianist in the rock and roll genre. He was one of the first rhythm and blues artists to gain popularity with a mainstream audience, helping to bridge the gap between R&B and rock and roll music. Domino's signature piano playing style, combined with his warm, soulful voice, contributed to his unique sound that resonated with audiences worldwide.


Domino had a string of hit songs in the 1950s and 1960s, including classics like "Ain't That a Shame," "Blueberry Hill," and "I'm Walkin'." His music had a significant influence on the development of rock and roll and inspired many musicians who came after him. Fats Domino was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987 for his contributions to music. He passed away on October 24, 2017, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a rock and roll pioneer.
