Fats Domino was an American pianist and singer-songwriter born on February 26, 1928, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a pioneer of rock and roll music and became one of the biggest stars of the genre in the 1950s. Domino is best known for hits like "Ain't That a Shame," "Blueberry Hill," and "I'm Walkin'."


His signature boogie-woogie piano playing style and warm, mellow voice set him apart from other artists of his time. Fats Domino was one of the first African-American artists to gain popularity with a predominantly white audience, helping to bridge racial divides through his music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. Fats Domino passed away on October 24, 2017, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
