Fats Domino, born as Antoine Domino Jr. on February 26, 1928, was an American pianist and singer-songwriter who was one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he developed a unique style blending rhythm and blues with a boogie-woogie piano playing technique. Domino gained fame in the 1950s with hits such as "Ain't That a Shame" and "Blueberry Hill," which helped him become one of the best-selling artists of the era.
Fats Domino was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. His music had a significant influence on the development of rock and roll and he was known for his warm, easygoing vocal style and catchy melodies. Fats Domino continued to perform and record music throughout his career, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of American popular music. He passed away on October 24, 2017, at the age of 89.
