They are best known for their hit single "Signs," which was released in 1971 and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song became an anthem for the counterculture movement of the time with its anti-establishment lyrics and catchy melody.
Despite the success of "Signs," Five Man Electrical Band struggled to produce additional hit singles and disbanded in the mid-1970s. However, their music continued to resonate with audiences, and they have since gained a cult following. The band's legacy lives on through their timeless hit song "Signs," which has been covered by numerous artists and remains a classic rock staple.
