Artist Bio

Artist Bio:
Five Man Electrical Band was a Canadian rock group formed in Ottawa in the late 1960s. The band consisted of Les Emmerson, Ted Gerow, Brian Rading, Rick 'Bell' Belanger, and Mike Belanger. They are best known for their hit single "Signs," which was released in 1971 and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song, written by Les Emmerson, became an anthem for the counterculture movement of the time with its anti-establishment lyrics.

Aside from "Signs," Five Man Electrical Band released several albums throughout the 1970s, including "Good-Byes and Butterflies" and "Sweet Paradise." Their music often featured socially conscious themes and catchy melodies. Despite their success with "Signs," the band struggled to achieve similar commercial success with their other songs. Five Man Electrical Band disbanded in the late 1970s, but their music continues to be remembered and celebrated by fans of classic rock.
