Artist Bio:
The Five Man Electrical Band was a Canadian rock group formed in Ottawa in 1964. The band's original lineup consisted of Les Emmerson, Ted Gerow, Brian Rading, Vern Craig, and Rick "Bell" Belanger. They are best known for their hit single "Signs," released in 1971, which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became a protest anthem against authority and conformity. The song's lyrics, written by band member Les Emmerson, reflect themes of rebellion and anti-establishment sentiments.
The Five Man Electrical Band released several albums throughout the 1970s, but they never achieved the same level of success as they did with "Signs." Despite this, the band continued to perform and release music until the late 1970s. The Five Man Electrical Band's legacy is largely tied to their iconic hit song "Signs," which has been covered by various artists and has endured as a classic rock staple.
