Artist Bio:
Five Stairsteps & Cubie was a family group of five siblings from Chicago who formed in the mid-1960s. The group consisted of Alohe Jean, Clarence Jr., James, Dennis, and Kenneth Burke, along with their cousin, Cubie. They are best known for their hit single "O-o-h Child," which was released in 1970 and became a classic soul anthem. The song reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and remains one of their most popular tracks.


Five Stairsteps & Cubie were signed to the Buddah Records label and released several albums throughout the 1960s and 1970s. They were known for their harmonious vocals and soulful sound, blending elements of soul, R&B, and pop music. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, the group left a lasting impact on the music industry and are remembered as one of the pioneering family groups of the soul music genre.
