Artist Bio:
Flamingos, the American doo-wop and R&B group, were formed in 1953 in New York City. The original members included Zeke Carey, Jake Carey, Paul Wilson, Johnny Carter, and Earl Lewis. They are best known for their 1959 hit song "I Only Have Eyes for You," which became a classic in the doo-wop genre and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The Flamingos were known for their smooth vocal harmonies and emotional delivery, which set them apart from other doo-wop groups of the time. They continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, although their popularity waned after the doo-wop era. The Flamingos were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, recognizing their contribution to the genre and their enduring influence on popular music.
