Flash and the Pan were an Australian new wave and synth-pop band formed in 1976 by Harry Vanda and George Young. The duo previously worked as songwriters and producers for the iconic band AC/DC. Flash and the Pan released their self-titled debut album in 1978, which featured the hit single "Hey St. Peter." The band went on to release several more albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including "Lights in the Night" and "Nights in France."
The band achieved commercial success with their catchy and innovative sound, blending elements of rock, pop, and electronic music. Despite not achieving the same level of mainstream success as some of their peers, Flash and the Pan have been recognized for their influential contributions to the new wave music scene.
