Artist Bio:
Flatt & Scruggs were an American bluegrass duo consisting of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. They were best known for popularizing bluegrass music and are considered one of the most influential bluegrass acts of all time. The duo met while playing in Bill Monroe's band, the Blue Grass Boys, in the 1940s. In 1948, they formed their own group, The Foggy Mountain Boys, and began recording together.

Flatt & Scruggs are perhaps most famous for their recording of "The Ballad of Jed Clampett," which served as the theme song for the popular television show "The Beverly Hillbillies." They were also regular performers on the Grand Ole Opry and recorded numerous albums together. Their music featured Scruggs' innovative three-finger banjo picking style and Flatt's smooth vocals, creating a distinctive sound that helped define the bluegrass genre. Flatt & Scruggs were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1985.
