Floyd Cramer was an American pianist who was born on October 27, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on December 31, 1997. He was known for his unique "slip note" piano style, characterized by a smooth gliding technique that added a distinctive touch to his music. Cramer was a highly influential figure in the country and pop music scenes, having played on numerous hit records by artists such as Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and Roy Orbison.


Cramer released a series of successful instrumental albums throughout his career, including the famous "Last Date" in 1960, which reached number two on the Billboard charts. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2003 for his contributions to the genre.
