Floyd Cramer was an American Hall of Fame pianist known for his distinctive "slip note" piano style. He was born on October 27, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on December 31, 1997, in Nashville, Tennessee. Cramer became a prominent figure in the country music scene, playing on numerous recordings for artists such as Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and the Everly Brothers. His piano playing can be heard on many classic country hits from the 1950s and 1960s.


Cramer released several solo albums and had a successful career as a recording artist in his own right. He scored his biggest hit with the instrumental track "Last Date" in 1960, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Throughout his career, Floyd Cramer was recognized for his unique playing style, which blended elements of country, pop, and jazz music.
