Floyd Robinson was an American singer and songwriter, born on April 8, 1932, in Alabama. He is best known for his hit single "Makin' Love," which was released in 1959 and reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Robinson was signed to the RCA Victor record label and released several singles throughout the early 1960s, though none achieved the same level of success as "Makin' Love."
In addition to his music career, Robinson was also an accomplished baseball player, having played in the minor leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies organization. After retiring from music, he worked as a truck driver. Floyd Robinson passed away on January 20, 2016, at the age of 83. Despite not achieving widespread fame, his contributions to the music industry during the early 1960s are still remembered by fans of the era.
