Artist Bio:
Fontella Bass was an American R&B and soul singer born on July 3, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri. She is best known for her hit song "Rescue Me," which reached the top of the R&B charts and peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1965. Bass began her career singing gospel music in her father's church before moving on to perform in a jazz trio and eventually pursuing a solo career in R&B and soul music. She collaborated with artists such as Bobby McClure and recorded several successful duets with him.

Bobby McClure was an American R&B singer born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1942. He gained recognition for his collaboration with Fontella Bass on songs like "Don't Mess Up a Good Thing" and "You'll Miss Me (When I'm Gone)." McClure's soulful voice and dynamic stage presence made him a popular artist in the 1960s R&B scene. Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as some of his peers, McClure's contributions to the genre are still celebrated by fans of classic soul music.
