The Four Tops are an American vocal quartet formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1953. The group's original lineup consisted of Levi Stubbs, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, Renaldo "Obie" Benson, and Lawrence Payton. They are best known for their soulful Motown sound and their string of hits in the 1960s and 1970s. The Four Tops achieved their first major success with the song "Baby I Need Your Loving" in 1964, and went on to produce numerous chart-topping hits including "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" and "Reach Out I'll Be There."
