Artist Bio:
Franke & The Knockouts was an American pop rock band formed in New Jersey in the early 1980s. The band was led by lead vocalist and songwriter Franke Previte and included other members such as Billy Elworthy, Blake Levinsohn, Leigh Foxx, and Claude LeHenaff. Franke & The Knockouts gained popularity in the early 1980s with their catchy tunes and melodic rock sound.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1981, spawned their biggest hit "Sweetheart," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band's follow-up albums, "Below the Belt" and "Makin' the Point," also received moderate success with singles like "You're My Girl" and "Without You (Not Another Lonely Night)." Despite their initial success, Franke & The Knockouts disbanded in the mid-1980s, with lead singer Franke Previte going on to achieve further success as a songwriter, most notably winning an Academy Award for co-writing the song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" for the film "Dirty Dancing."
