Frankie Avalon is an American actor, singer, and former teen idol who was born on September 18, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s with a string of hit songs, including "Venus" and "Why." Avalon also had a successful acting career, appearing in numerous films such as "Beach Party" and "Guns of the Timberland."


Avalon's clean-cut image and smooth vocals made him a popular figure in the early days of rock and roll.
