Frankie Avalon is an American actor, singer, and former teen idol who was born on September 18, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s with a string of hit songs such as "Venus," "Why," and "De De Dinah." Avalon also had a successful acting career, appearing in a number of popular films including "Beach Party" and its sequels, where he starred alongside Annette Funicello.
In addition to his music and acting endeavors, Frankie Avalon also made numerous television appearances and even had his own variety show called "The Frankie Avalon Show."
