He was best known for his hit single "Sea Cruise," which was released in 1959 and reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ford's energetic and soulful vocal style, combined with his New Orleans rhythm and blues sound, helped him make a mark in the music industry during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success with his other recordings, Frankie Ford remained a popular performer in the New Orleans music scene throughout his career. He continued to perform live and record music until his passing on September 28, 2015, at the age of 76.
