Frankie Ford was an American singer born on August 4, 1939, in Gretna, Louisiana. He was best known for his 1959 hit single "Sea Cruise," which reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a rock and roll classic and remains a popular oldie today.


Ford began his music career in New Orleans and was discovered by the record producer Huey P. Meaux. He recorded several other singles throughout the 1960s, but none achieved the same level of success as "Sea Cruise." Ford continued to perform live throughout his career, often appearing at oldies shows and music festivals. He passed away on September 28, 2015, at the age of 76, leaving behind a lasting impact on the rock and roll music scene.
