Frankie Laine, born Francesco Paolo LoVecchio on March 30, 1913, was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was known for his powerful and versatile voice, which allowed him to perform in various musical genres ranging from jazz and pop to country and western. Laine rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s with hits like "That's My Desire," "Mule Train," and "Jezebel."
Throughout his career, Laine recorded over 80 albums and had multiple songs reach the top of the charts. He also appeared in several films, including "Meet Me In Las Vegas" and "Blazing Saddles." Laine was recognized with numerous awards, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inductions into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame and the Hit Parade Hall of Fame. He passed away on February 6, 2007, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most successful and enduring vocalists of the 20th century.
