Fred Wesley & The J.B.'s is a funk and soul band formed by trombonist and arranger Fred Wesley, who was a key member of James Brown's band in the 1960s and 1970s. The band originally started as The James Brown Soul Train, but they later changed their name to The J.B.'s. Fred Wesley became the band leader and primary arranger, working closely with James Brown to create their signature funky sound.
