The band was part of Clinton's collective of musicians known as Parliament-Funkadelic, which also included the band Parliament. Funkadelic's music often featured political and social commentary, as well as a focus on psychedelic and experimental sounds.
Funkadelic released several influential albums in the 1970s, including "Maggot Brain" and "One Nation Under a Groove." Their music has been praised for its innovative approach to funk music and its influence on genres such as hip hop and electronic music. Funkadelic was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
