Artist Bio:
Gang Starr was an influential hip hop duo formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1985. The group consisted of MC Guru (Keith Elam) and DJ Premier (Christopher Martin), with Guru providing the lyrics and Premier creating the beats. Gang Starr was known for their unique blend of jazz and hip hop, as well as their socially conscious lyrics and smooth delivery.


Throughout their career, Gang Starr released six studio albums, including "Step in the Arena" (1991) and "Moment of Truth" (1998), which are considered classics in the genre. The duo achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success, with hits like "Mass Appeal" and "DWYCK." Gang Starr's music continues to be celebrated for its authenticity, innovation, and contribution to the evolution of hip hop. Guru sadly passed away in 2010, but Gang Starr's legacy lives on as one of the most respected and influential hip hop acts of all time.
