Garbage is an alternative rock band formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. The band consists of Scottish singer Shirley Manson and American musicians Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig. They are known for their eclectic sound which incorporates elements of rock, electronic music, and pop. Garbage gained commercial success with their self-titled debut album in 1995, which featured hits such as "Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains". The album was critically acclaimed and sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
Garbage has released a total of seven studio albums, with their most recent being "No Gods No Masters" in 2021. The band has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 17 million albums worldwide. Garbage is known for their innovative use of sampling and production techniques, as well as Manson's powerful vocals and provocative lyrics.
