Garnet Mimms & The Enchanters were an American soul vocal group formed in Philadelphia in 1963. The group consisted of lead singer Garnet Mimms, as well as Zola Pearnell, Charles Boyer, and Samuel Bell. They are best known for their hit song "Cry Baby," which was released in 1963 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


The group's signature sound combined Mimms' powerful and emotive vocals with the tight harmonies of The Enchanters. They were influential in the development of soul music in the 1960s, with their music characterized by passionate vocals and a raw, emotional intensity. Garnet Mimms & The Enchanters continued to release music throughout the 1960s, but ultimately disbanded in the early 1970s.
