Bonds is best known for his song "Quarter to Three," which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. He also had other successful singles like "New Orleans" and "School is Out."


Bonds' music was influenced by artists like Chuck Berry and Fats Domino. He was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2012 in recognition of his contributions to the music industry.
