Gary U.S. Bonds is an American rhythm and blues and rock and roll singer. He was born Gary Anderson on June 6, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida. Bonds is known for his hits in the early 1960s, such as "New Orleans" and "Quarter to Three", which helped define the sound of the era.


Bonds' music is characterized by a lively and energetic style that blends elements of R&B, rock and roll, and soul. He achieved commercial success with his music and has continued to perform and record throughout his career. Bonds was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2012 in recognition of his contributions to the music industry.
