Artist Bio:
Gayle McCormick was an American singer best known for her work as the lead vocalist of the rock band Smith. Born on November 26, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, McCormick began her music career in the 1960s. Smith was formed in Los Angeles in 1969, and the band released their self-titled debut album in 1969, which featured McCormick's powerful vocals on tracks like "Baby It's You" and "Take a Look Around."

After leaving Smith in the early 1970s, McCormick pursued a solo career and released several albums, including "One More Hour" in 1971 and "Gayle McCormick" in 1974. Despite her talent and success with Smith, McCormick never achieved the same level of commercial success as a solo artist. She continued to perform and record music throughout her career, and her work with Smith remains highly regarded among fans of 1960s and 1970s rock music. Gayle McCormick passed away on March 1, 2016, at the age of 67.
