Artist Bio:
General Public was a British band formed in 1983 by former members of the ska band The Beat (known as The English Beat in the United States). The band consisted of Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger on vocals, along with other musicians. General Public's music blended elements of new wave, ska, and pop, resulting in a unique sound that gained popularity in the 1980s.
One of General Public's most well-known songs is "Tenderness," which was a hit in 1984 and received significant airplay on radio and MTV. The band released two albums, "All the Rage" in 1984 and "Hand to Mouth" in 1986. Despite their success, General Public disbanded in the late 1980s, and the members pursued other musical projects. However, the band's music continues to be remembered and celebrated by fans of 1980s music.
