Genesis are an English rock band formed in 1967. The band's original lineup consisted of Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips, and Chris Stewart. Over the years, the band's lineup went through several changes, with Phil Collins eventually taking over as lead vocalist after Gabriel's departure in 1975.
Genesis are known for their progressive rock sound, incorporating complex song structures and elaborate stage shows. They achieved commercial success with albums like "Selling England by the Pound" and "Invisible Touch," which spawned hit singles such as "I Can't Dance" and "Land of Confusion." The band's music often featured thought-provoking lyrics and storytelling elements. Genesis were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
