Artist Bio:
Genesis is a British rock band formed in 1967 in Godalming, Surrey. The band's founding members included Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Anthony Phillips, and Chris Stewart. Over the years, the band's lineup went through several changes, with Phil Collins eventually taking over as lead vocalist after Gabriel's departure in 1975. Genesis achieved commercial success with albums like "Selling England by the Pound" (1973), "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" (1974), and "Invisible Touch" (1986).
Known for their elaborate stage shows, complex song structures, and eclectic musical style that blends progressive rock, pop, and art rock, Genesis became one of the most successful and influential bands in the progressive rock genre. They have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Despite going on hiatus in the late 1990s, Genesis reunited for a tour in 2007 and released their first studio album in 14 years, "Calling All Stations," in 1997.
