Genesis are a British rock band formed in 1967. The original lineup consisted of Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Anthony Phillips, and Chris Stewart. Over the years, the band experienced several lineup changes, with Phil Collins taking over as lead vocalist after Gabriel's departure in 1975. Genesis achieved commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s with albums like "Selling England by the Pound" and "Invisible Touch."
Known for their elaborate stage shows and innovative music videos, Genesis is considered one of the most successful and influential progressive rock bands of all time. They have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Despite going on hiatus in the late 1990s, Genesis reunited for a successful tour in 2007 and continue to be celebrated for their musical contributions.
