Genya Ravan, born Genyusha Zelkovicz in Poland in 1940, is a renowned rock singer, producer, and author. She is best known for being the lead singer of the all-female rock band Goldie & the Gingerbreads, one of the first all-female rock bands to sign to a major record label in the 1960s. Ravan later pursued a solo career, releasing several albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. She is considered a pioneer for women in the rock music industry, breaking barriers and paving the way for future female artists.
In addition to her music career, Genya Ravan has also worked as a record producer, working with artists such as Ronnie Spector and John Waite. She has written an autobiography titled "Lollipop Lounge: Memoirs of a Rock and Roll Refugee," in which she shares her experiences in the music industry. Genya Ravan continues to be a respected figure in the music world, known for her powerful voice and contributions to rock music history.
