George Hamilton IV was an American country music singer and guitarist born on July 19, 1937, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was known for his smooth vocals and was a pioneer in the country music genre. Hamilton began his music career in the late 1950s and signed with RCA Records, where he achieved success with hits like "A Rose and a Baby Ruth" and "Before this Day Ends."
Throughout his career, George Hamilton IV recorded over 40 albums and had numerous chart-topping singles. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1960 and the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2010. Hamilton was also known for his international appeal, touring and performing in countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia. He continued to make music until his passing on September 17, 2014, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the country music industry.
