George Maharis is an American actor and singer, born on September 1, 1928, in Astoria, New York. He is best known for his role as Buz Murdock in the television series "Route 66," which aired from 1960 to 1964. Maharis received critical acclaim for his performance in the show, earning him a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer in 1962. He also released several albums showcasing his singing talent during his career.


In addition to his work on television, Maharis appeared in a number of films, including "The Satan Bug" (1965) and "Land Raiders" (1969).
