Artist Bio:
George McCrae is an American singer and songwriter known for his 1974 hit single "Rock Your Baby," which was a major success in both the United States and internationally. Born on October 19, 1944, in West Palm Beach, Florida, McCrae began his music career in the 1960s as a member of various local R&B bands before achieving solo success with "Rock Your Baby."
The song "Rock Your Baby" was written and produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch of KC and the Sunshine Band, and it became one of the first disco hits, reaching the top of the charts in the US and selling over 11 million copies worldwide. Although McCrae never replicated the same level of success as "Rock Your Baby," he continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, cementing his place in music history as a disco pioneer.
