George Michael, born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou on June 25, 1963, was an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of the music duo Wham! in the 1980s before launching a successful solo career. Michael was known for his soulful voice and his ability to blend various musical genres such as pop, R&B, and dance. Some of his most popular songs include "Careless Whisper," "Faith," and "Freedom! '90."


Throughout his career, George Michael sold over 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He received numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. George Michael was also known for his charitable work, supporting organizations such as AIDS research, children's hospitals, and LGBTQ rights. Tragically, George Michael passed away on December 25, 2016, at the age of 53.
