Gerald Levert was an American singer-songwriter, producer, and actor, born on July 13, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of Eddie Levert, the lead vocalist of the O'Jays, a popular R&B group. Gerald Levert rose to fame as a member of the R&B group LeVert, which he formed with his brother Sean and friend Marc Gordon in the mid-1980s. The group achieved success with hits like "Casanova" and "Baby I'm Ready."


In addition to his work with LeVert, Gerald Levert had a successful solo career, releasing several albums that showcased his smooth vocals and soulful sound. He collaborated with many other artists in the R&B and hip-hop genres, including Patti LaBelle, Barry White, and Queen Latifah. Throughout his career, Gerald Levert earned a reputation as a talented and versatile artist, known for his heartfelt lyrics and powerful performances. Tragically, he passed away on November 10, 2006, at the age of 40.
