Gerald Levert was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, born on July 13, 1966, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Eddie Levert, the lead vocalist of the O'Jays. Levert gained fame as a member of the R&B group LeVert, which he formed with his brother Sean and friend Marc Gordon. The group achieved success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Casanova" and "Baby I'm Ready."
In addition to his work with LeVert, Gerald Levert had a successful solo career, releasing several albums that showcased his soulful voice and songwriting skills. He collaborated with artists like Patti LaBelle, Eddie Levert, and Kelly Price. Levert won a Grammy Award in 1997 for his work on the song "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" with Mariah Carey. Sadly, Gerald Levert passed away on November 10, 2006, at the age of 40, leaving behind a legacy of timeless R&B music.
