Artist Bio:
Gerry And The Pacemakers were a British beat group formed in Liverpool in 1959. The band consisted of lead singer Gerry Marsden, his brother Fred Marsden on drums, Les Chadwick on bass, and Les Maguire on piano. They were managed by Brian Epstein, who also managed The Beatles. The band achieved success in the early 1960s with hits like "How Do You Do It?" and "I Like It." They were the second group to have a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart after The Beatles, and they were known for their close association with the Merseybeat sound. Gerry And The Pacemakers disbanded in 1967, but they left a lasting impact on the British music scene.
