They were contemporaries of The Beatles and achieved success with their catchy pop tunes and energetic live performances. In addition to "How Do You Do It?", the band's other well-known hits include "Ferry Cross the Mersey" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Gerry and the Pacemakers were one of the leading acts of the Merseybeat sound and were signed to the famous record label, EMI. They disbanded in 1966 but left a lasting legacy in the history of British rock and pop music.
