Artist Bio:
Giant, also known as André René Roussimoff, was a French professional wrestler and actor born on May 19, 1946. Standing at over 7 feet tall and weighing around 520 pounds, he was known for his immense size and strength in the wrestling world. Giant gained worldwide fame in the 1970s and 1980s, wrestling for various promotions including the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Aside from his wrestling career, Giant also appeared in several films and television shows, most notably portraying Fezzik in the 1987 movie "The Princess Bride." He was known for his gentle nature and charming personality outside of the ring. Giant passed away on January 27, 1993, at the age of 46 due to congestive heart failure caused by his acromegaly, a condition that resulted in his giant stature.
