Gladys Knight and The Pips was an American R&B/soul group that was active from the 1950s to the 1980s. The group's lineup consisted of lead singer Gladys Knight and her backing vocalists, The Pips, which included her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight and cousins Edward Patten and William Guest. Known for their smooth harmonies and dynamic stage presence, Gladys Knight and The Pips achieved great success in the music industry.
The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. Some of their most popular songs include "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)," and "If I Were Your Woman." Gladys Knight and The Pips received several Grammy Awards and were regarded as one of the most iconic and influential R&B groups of their time.
