Gladys Knight and the Pips were an American R&B/soul group that was active from the late 1950s to the early 1980s. The group consisted of lead singer Gladys Knight and her backing vocalists/brother Merald "Bubba" Knight and cousins Edward Patten and William Guest. They achieved commercial success with hits such as "Midnight Train to Georgia," "If I Were Your Woman," and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)."


Gladys Knight and the Pips were known for their smooth harmonies, powerful vocals, and dynamic stage performances. They won three Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. The group disbanded in 1989, and Gladys Knight continued to have a successful solo career.
