Gladys Knight and The Pips was an American R&B/soul group that was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1952. The group's lineup consisted of lead vocalist Gladys Knight along with her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight and their cousins Edward Patten and William Guest. They gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s with hits such as "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)," and "If I Were Your Woman."


Gladys Knight and The Pips were known for their smooth harmonies, emotional delivery, and energetic stage presence. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. Throughout their career, they won multiple Grammy Awards and were recognized as one of the most successful and influential soul groups of their time.
