Gladys Knight and The Pips were an American R&B/soul family musical act hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. The group was composed of lead singer Gladys Knight along with her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight and their cousins Edward Patten and William Guest. They formed in 1952 and achieved commercial success in the 1960s and 1970s, with hits such as "Midnight Train to Georgia," "If I Were Your Woman," and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)."

Gladys Knight and The Pips were known for their smooth harmonies, energetic stage presence, and Knight's powerful vocal delivery. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. The group disbanded in 1989, with Gladys Knight pursuing a successful solo career, but their music continues to be celebrated and remembered as an important part of R&B music history.
