Gladys Knight and The Pips were an American R&B/soul group formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1952. The group's lineup consisted of Gladys Knight, known for her powerful vocals, along with her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight and cousins Edward Patten and William Guest.
The group achieved commercial success in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Midnight Train to Georgia," "If I Were Your Woman," and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)." Known for their harmonious vocals and dynamic stage presence, Gladys Knight and The Pips were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. They disbanded in 1989, with Gladys Knight pursuing a successful solo career while The Pips retired from the music industry.
